In this, the briefest described period, two notable related events took place. Catching a string of economic failures, Rovex, FROG’s parental firm, began to find ways to reduce costs and compensate for the losses. Unfortunately, for modelers, this process directly influenced FROG, as Rovex tried to partially move beyond the crisis at the cost of it.
As a result, partnership with Hasegawa ceased and manufacturers went on to mass-produce Black series, having finally released giant amounts of these kits. For the sake of justice it is worth mentioning that, left without Japanese sprue sets, FROG were able to reanimate some of their own projects.
