The Bleriot XI aircraft does not need a special introduction (just the flight across the English Channel was worth what, not to mention the military use in the initial period of the First World War), which cannot be said about the attitude of model manufacturers to it.
Throughout the existence of plastic modeling, this aircraft was reproduced on a scale of 1/72 only by three companies IMA, “Renwal” and “Brifaut”. Models of the last two firms can certainly be found in “flea markets” in piece quantities and for a lot of money, but the product of the company “International Model Aircraft” (FROG trademark ) is periodically sold from hand. And all thanks to the Yaroslavl chemical plant “Luch”, which mastered the mass production of the “ex-Frog” model in 1988 and stamped it in large quantities until the collapse of the USSR. True, in this whole story there is one nuance – from the point of view of copying, the Bleriot XI model of the British development turned out to be disgusting.
In preparing the article, materials were used that were provided to us by S.Vasyutkin, S.Prosvirnin, A.Alov, Dmitry (Minsk) and Sauron, as well as from the eBay online auction.
